Amazing Raising!

The inaugral whole school Pupil Council Bake Sale raised a wonderful £500!

- WWF AMUR LEOPARD APPEAL Rebecca P7A 60%

- COELIAC RESEARCH UK Bea and Holly P6A 20%

- SYRIA OXFAM APPEAL Mixie and Ahmed P7A 10%

The people above went to assembly and did a presentation. The whole school voted on the charity they wanted the money to go to, voting with a cube. Mr Reid helped make giant cylinders and people put their cubes in those. (The idea came from a supermarket).

The charity with the most votes received 60% of the money, 2nd place 20%, third place 10% and 10% of the money raised has been donated to Comic Relief.

The Pupil Council, Ms McGhee and Miss Dodds

In total, that means Comic Relief received an amazing £1300 from Sciennes!

Well done everyone, and thank you to all our families for your generosity and support.

At this point you must let us know who will be collecting your child at the end of the day. Parents/ guardians will be asked to sign-out children.

At 1pm, there will be a short talk regarding thework of charity that we are supporting, Teenage Cancer Trust, to help raise awareness of their work.

The
Scotch Bonnet Events Team: Jade, Jordan, Lynsey and Maddy, will then give a short event brief, explaining how the race will be run. The race will begin no later than 1.30pm.

Bonaly is situated to the south of Edinburgh, near Colinton, with easy access from the Edinburgh Bypass or by the number 10 Lothian bus
(for detailed directions, please visit: http://www.bonaly.org.uk/directions/).

Children aged 8-14 are to enter in teams of up to 8(and minimum of 4)to compete in the adventure race. Teams can be of mixed age and gender. We recommend that the team help each other round the course, working together.

All we ask is that children wear suitable shoes such as trainers or boots and some older clothing which keeps them warm and dry, which you don’t mind getting MUDDY!!!!

Tickets cost £5 per child, this includes entrance and race participation; teas, coffees and juices which will be available from 12.30pm onwards, and soup and a roll offered to participants provided by Bonaly's catering staff, will be available from 3pm onwards. So no need for a packed lunch!

Please contact us at:
scotchbonnetevents@hotmail.co.ukor www.facebook.com/scotchbonnetevents
to arrange the most suitable action for ticket sales.

A similar event at Bonaly has been extremely popular and has already sold out, so please book your places soon if you are interested. It will be an exciting, action packed day that should not be missed!

First-aiders will be on site as well as a number of volunteers and qualified instructors. All over 18s on site will hold a PVG Certificate to reassure you of the children’s safety.

We are a not-for-profit organisation with all proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust. We would like to encourage children to raise money for our charity if they wish to do so. We can provide sponsorship forms to any children who are interested in raising money which they will bring along with them on the day with their funds and form. Any contributions towards our charity would be greatly appreciated, even buying a ticket will help to raise money so we hope you consider coming to our event.

A great big thank you to all our bakers and all our buyers. We had a tremendous response to our first 'all school bake sale' and a fabulous £516 was raised. Special thanks to Pupil Council, Ms McGhee, Ms Dodds, P1A parents Nicola, Aileen and Estelle.

As you can see the standard of baking was extraordinary.
