FINA World Diving Competition at RCP

On Friday 19th April P7 pupils Esther, Eve and Kirsty were able to take advantage of Diving Coach Jenny Lemming's generous and kind offer of a few free tickets to the FINA World Diving competitions being held at the Royal Commonwealth Pool over the weekend. Not only did they have the opportunity to see world class divers, they were also given some lovely freebies including towels and caps.

The FINA/Midea World Series is an annual, invitation-only event where the world's diving elite go head-to-head six times in the space of three months.

The 2013 Series is the seventh running of the event and takes place over six legs in Beijing (15-17 March), Dubai (March 21-23), Edinburgh (April 19-21), Moscow (April 26-28), Guadalajara (May 17-19) and Mexico City (May 24-26).
The diving programme at the World Series mimics that of the Olympic Games, featuring 3m Springboard, 10m Platform, 3m Synchro and 10m Synchro for both men and women.

Kirsty came back to school for her Gymnastics club sporting her 'Commonwealth Clyde' mascot sticker and gave the event a resounding thumbs up. Good luck at the Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Kirsty! A very busy, sporting weekend!
