Grateful thanks to Mike Shields, Community Parks Officer, who approached us about launching a giant outdoor chess board set, generously donated by Jason Kouchak. Pupils from Sciennes' highly successful Chess Club were delighted to take part and to feature in this Evening News story. Scottish Grand Master Colin McNab was on hand to assist.
The weather-proof chess pieces, which were made in Scotland, will be kept in the park warden’s store room overnight and will be set out each morning from April to October.
