Medal Success at EPSSA Swim and Dive Gala!

Katie, Mia, Boris and Mhairi Medal Success

Thank you to Mrs Beth Walker, one of our PE Specialists and Swimming Teacher, for organising and compering the Edinburgh Primary School Sports Association (EPSSA) Swim and Dive Gala event for all city primary schools on Wednesday 1st April at the Royal Commonwealth Pool. Great to see Mr Jonathan Wallace (our Active Sports Co-ordinator) at the event, too. Thanks to Mrs Cynthia Berry, our other PE Specialist, for her pep talk and tips! It was a thoroughly enjoyable event for all 500 children competing. Thank you to all the families who lent their support and cheered everyone on. All our P7 swimmers swam well in the Breaststroke (6th), Backstroke (4th) and Front Crawl (3rd) heat races and managed to reach the Finals of the Front Crawl. We had many entrants to the Diving competition and remarkable success in this event with Mia W and Boris achieving Gold medals, Katie a Silver and Mhari a Bronze! Great sporting attitudes from all our pupils, cheering on all competitors - especially our JGHS cluster friends! Well done all!

Thank you to all school staff, parents and coaches for bringing their teams to our fantastic Swim Relay and Dive Gala yesterday at the Royal Commonwealth Pool.  Many adults at the Gala commented on the polite behaviour of so many of the pupils and we very much appreciate that so many of them thanked the organisers.

Below are the results of the Swim Finals.  The full Dive results will be sent after the Easter holidays.
