Parent/Carer comments from recent survey by Communications Group on display
Thank
you to all the parents and staff who came along to the School Council
AGM on Thursday evening 13th June and to Mrs Noble for her Headteacher's Report. Like the School Council meetings, this annual event is open to all parents and carers and we were delighted to welcome so many new faces. Bruce Crawford stepped down as Chair of the School Council and he
was thanked for all his hard work over the past two years. The new chair
is Jo Kite and the position of Vice Chair is currently vacant. There is
also a paid vacancy for the role of Clerk to the School Council. Please
contact the School Council if you are interested in doing either of
these roles. Alison Platts was presented with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of the valued lead role she has played for many years in support of the school. Alison passes on the role of Treasurer to Claire Marshall. Ninette Premdas also received a bouquet and we are extremely grateful to her for all that she has contributed, along with Carol Phillip who also steps down, since their children will be moving on to high school next year. Aileen Nimmo is the new chair of Sciennes Parent and
Teacher Association – thanks were given to Shelagh McLeish who had
carried out this role last year. Parents had an opportunity to see the
Action Plan which the School Council has produced for the new school
year, based on feedback from the recent parent survey. Parent comments were on display for everyone to see. Thank you to School Council and Communications Group members - and in particular Claire Wheeler - for collating all the responses, from the unprecedented amount of feedback, so visually. A hugely successful exercise in extending Parent Voice in partnership with the school. Full minutes and
financial reports will be added to the
new School Council website in the near future.
